The lovely town of Baia Sardinia, situated between Porto Cervo and Palau, was built in the last few decades, and consisted, in the past, only of a beach called Cala Battistoni (named after a military fortress standing on the hills) and a country church near the sea.
This town is particularly famed for the beauty of its natural landscape; and the modern tourist resorts did not spoil the stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
A nearby hilltop, also called Battistoni, offers a wonderful panorama of the area where visitors can admire the coastlines of the islands of La Maddalena, Caprera and Corsica.
